What does "may contain" mean?

A "may contain" statement means a genuine cross-contact risk has been identified even though the allergen is not deliberately used as an ingredient in that product.

Boteane uses precautionary wording only where supported by supplier information and a documented risk assessment. Customers with allergies should read the exact product information each time.
